After the iPad launched, Merrill Lynch asked us to look into how it could be used to enhance advisor/client relationships. We knew Wealth Management clients expected a higher-degree of access than traditional retail banking, so we created a tool that lets them work off of the same page. Here's the flow: A client updates one of her goals, she alerts her advisor, the advisor sees the change. The adviser swipes up to reveal the advisor's UI which is the engine under the hood of the client's UI. The advisor can rework scenarios, allowing her client to see how goals will be affected, and then make some decisions. That's it. Not too far from real-life – just much faster and easier to get what you need.
